At 7pm on 30 March, a skills training session was held in the conference room on the second floor of the College, which was attended by all undergraduate and postgraduate assistants from the the Party and Government Office, the Education and Science Office and the Students' Affairs Office. The training session consisted of three sections, namely, learning about job responsibilities and requirements; learning job skills to help improve personal skills; sharing and answering questions , etc. It aimed to enhance the personal qualities of our student assistants, improve their working ability and efficiency, promote communication between them, and create a more positive and studious atmosphere in the assistant team.
In the first session of the training, Ms. Zhang Zhixian, a tutor, gave a brief introduction to the basic situation of our college from three aspects: the history of the college, the setting of departmental centres and scientific achievements. She then gave a detailed introduction of the main tasks of the three offices, namely the Party and Government Office, the Education and Science Office and the Students' Affairs Office, as well as the assistants recruited for each office this semester and their main tasks, and stressed the specific requirements to be noted in their work.
Afterwards, Gao Ning, a graduate assistant, shared some tips on office software word and excel in a systematic and wonderful way through a practical demonstration, after which the assistants said that the content she shared was efficient and practical, and they benefited a lot. Next, Mr. Li Hongpeng, a tutor, talked about the history of press releases, the dos and don'ts of writing press releases and representative writing materials from a practical point of view. The assistants said that they should accumulate and practice more in the future and look forward to writing high-quality press releases soon.
Finally, Zhao Wei from Civil Engineering 1801 shared his experience as a student assistant for two and a half years. Zhao Wei mentioned that the good qualities of his teachers have influenced him in the process of assisting them. At the same time, he pointed out the importance of serious study and hoped that our assistants would strive to achieve both study and work.
Through this training, the office assistants have become more familiar with the work content of this section, have a clearer understanding of the work objectives, and their professional quality and working ability have been greatly enhanced. It is believed that afterwards the students will be able to think diligently and learn well in their posts, better assist the teachers in dealing with various work matters and make their own contribution to the development of the college's work.
